I screeched!!!

Hello there again... (sob...sob) This is Kaylie posting again. Today started off just perfect. It was sunny but not too warm. The park was semi dry so we could run around without getting too dirty to warrant a bath. We then went to the beach where we all chilled out.

By the time we were done @ the beach it was time for our late afternoon "run in the park" time! It sounded too good to be true! A whole day of fun fun & more fun!!! Unfortunately, it wasn't as fun as we all thought.

5mins into the park, mind you it was the park we visit EVERYDAY except rainy days, came a squeal & I was fighting with a JRT. Jaffe came over to give me a paw until MaMa & PaPa pulled us apart. I accidentally hurt PaPa a little during the process. They couldn't figure out why I was so peeved. They thought I had aggrevated the JRT but turned out, it was because she bit me! They didn't even realise I was bleeding until Jaffe walked to me & "pointed" out to them my bleeding wound. So I was the one who screeched 'cos of the bite!

Here's a picture...

We rushed to the vet & was told I can either just let it heal by itself but may take a long time cos of the deep gash or I can have it stitched up. MaMa is quite against putting me under GA unless absolutely necessary. She is so torn now cos she's afraid the wound may get infected & turn out to be worse but letting me go through GA just for 2 stitches just doesn't sit right with her. She will decide tmr morning depending on how the wound look.

She tried contacting the JRT owner but no response. I think the owner should know what kind of "damage" her dog is capable of & should keep a close eye when socialising it.

I gotta go take a rest now. The wound is still bleeding a bit, MaMa says I shouldn't be moving too much.

OMG, I think that's right under your eye! How scary, Kaylie! That JRT should be ashamed picking on a cute girl like yourself! Take good care of your booboo, okay? We don't want any infection! We're sending lots of AireZen your way!

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

Poor Kaylie - I hope she heals up without any other problems - and that JRT owner should definitely know what her dog has done and hopefully keep a closer eye on the nasty pasty in the future.

Oh Kaylie, you poor little girl! That was just horrible of that dog to bite you! They shouldn't allow a dog like that at the dog park. You are way too cute to be treated like that. I'm glad to hear that Jaffe came to your aid. He sounds like a really good brother. I hope you feel better in the morning and I wish you fast healing.
Woof,
Keeley

Kaylie Kaylie!

I am so glad it wasn't worse, but it looks like it HURTS! Take it easy and let Jaffe wait on you paw & paw.

No one can ever convince me that YOU would have started a fight. Hope that other JRT's owner figures out what's going on!

Goober love & healing smooches to you,
Stanley

Hello Kaylie,

This is Just Harry posting. A few months ago, Jakey bit me (by mistake, I'm sure) when we were excited about something and punctured my cheek. Under all my fur,Mom didn't even know it until a week or so later when they were combing me, saw blood and pus, and realized I had an infection. They took me to the vet, who decided that the safest thing to do was surgery to clean out the wound and stitch it up. Yep, I had to wear a collar for a week or so and take antibiotics; but everything is fine now.

I'm writing this to say that it's best to be cautious. Surgery to be sure the wound is clean and stitch it up will be worse for your Mom than for you -- my Mom ws a mess until she knew everything was over!! Regardless of what you decide, though just be careful and let us know how you're doing!!!!

Lots of wirey woofs from

Just Harry

On case like this, I would call the police and have them get a report and all. Though I know it's important for you to take your pup to the vet asap. I hope all is well, makes me mad to know such people allow such dogs be around others.

YIKES! That happened to my friend Audrey Dog and right under her eye too! Her owner decided against stitches and now she has a funky under eye scar.

Hope you feel better soon!

Kylie, ask your mama to apply honey or aloe vera juice to your wound to speed up the healing process.

I always put those on my dogs when they have a wound and the process of healing is twice as fast. Try it! It works!!!
